Clay to Cloth Is My Process.

I've always had a deep connection to working with clay, a passion that has stayed with me throughout my life. Equally, I loved fabric and design, and early in my career, I chose fashion and textiles, concentrating primarily on print design. I've been fortunate to collaborate with many talented designers, helping to develop prints and fabrics for their collections across different seasons in different styles.

When it came to developing my own collections, I wanted to reclaim my style and point of view, and I found that working in clay allowed me to experiment and find my voice. I found that the patterns I made in the clay were the patterns I wanted on my fabrics. So now, a slab of clay is where my process begins.

I enjoy the softness of the clay and how it accepts the marks I make by cutting, drawing, and pressing shapes and textures, allowing for sharp lines and soft color, rapid repeating patterns, and textural landscapes.
